Your Breakfast
To quote the phenomenal entertainer and terrific cook, Pearl Bailey, “I am not a gourmet chick”.
At Bryn Brooke Manor, your breakfast isn’t fussy; it’s just made with the freshest and best ingredients we can find. We are regulars at the terrific Cooperstown Farmers’ Market! Embracing the Savor New York mission, we pick local fruits, and buy eggs, maple syrup, honey, and vegetables from our neighbors; we grow our own herbs.
Your breakfast begins with fabulous coffee from Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters of Victor, NY. We grind the freshly roasted beans every morning. Our signature coffee is Witch’s Brew, a wonderful bold, but smooth dark roast. The name may or may not reflect the owner, depending on the day.
We bake something fresh every morning- it might be currant scones, banana chocolate chip muffins, real Southern buttermilk biscuits or, on Sunday mornings, fruit cobbler. If you have a preference, just ask! We also make our own granola, which we think is the best we’ve ever tasted. It’s bursting with choice dried fruits (apples, cherries, blueberries, or cranberries) from Western New York, lots of nuts (almonds, walnuts, and pecans, plus sunflower seeds) and sweetened with pure New York honey and New York maple syrup. We serve our Savor New York Granola with Chobani yogurt, a brilliant line of Greek-style yogurts made right here in Otsego County.
All those trips to the Farmers’ Market ensure fresh fruit for breakfast. Depending on the local harvest, we’ll feature strawberries, blueberries, peaches, melons, whatever current bounty fills the stalls. Our jams are also made with local fruits and are simply wonderful.
There is nothing like fresh eggs and that is the only kind we’ll serve, courtesy of Vaughn’s Poultry Farm in Richfield Springs. Beautiful brown eggs with rich yellow yolks and whites that stand up like Jell-O (which we don’t serve at breakfast, but you get the reference.) Our eggs (and everything else) are cooked only on American cast iron or stainless steel, because we think non-stick coatings are a bit suspicious and produce inferior results.
Your choice of meats include Gianelli’s Sausage links, apple or pepper bacon, lean ham, or kielbasa, available with a variety of local mustards.
Our acclaimed Bryn Brooke pancakes (“They float!”) are also available, but do ask for them ahead of time, if you would. We can make ‘em quick, but would prefer to use a more time-consuming method.
Your breakfast is included in your rate and is available from 8AM-9:30AM.
